We are back talking about sleep again this week. Hopefully you have made a small investment of money or time to change your room up to make it darker. Go back to Sunday on week 2 to revisit the sleep discussion and making your room dark.
For today we are going to add another layer to the improved sleep steps. White noise is a tool that many people use to enhance the quality of their sleep. This can look like purhasing a professinoal white noise machine, downloading a white noise app on your phone, or placing a fan in the room that delivers a consistent low level noise to sleep to.
Directive – go find yourself a white noise machine or some equivalent. Try sleeping with it for a week.
For this week and for all previous tips given it is important to take notes or journal any changes you feel for the better or worse. How are you doing to know if this is good for you? You have to record some elements of your sleep quality. Did you wake up refreshed? Did you wake up with an alarm or without? Did you fall asleep faster? There are great sleep monitoring devices out there to get more detailed information on your sleep if you wish, but a simple journal will suffice.
